Equality, diversity & inclusion

Fair access, reasonable adjustments and support for individual learning needs.

Version 1.0 · Effective 13 October 2026 · Review by 13 October 2027

Our commitment

SFK Education seeks to provide respectful, accessible tuition and fair treatment for students, families, staff and visitors. We will not unlawfully discriminate, harass or victimise anyone. We consider relevant Equality Act 2010 protections and duties in the context in which they apply, including reasonable adjustments for disabled people.

Students must not be excluded by assumptions about disability, SEND, background or attainment. Academic year and tier groupings are used to match teaching needs, and we explain available options clearly.

Planning support together

Contact enquiries@sfkeducation.com before attending if there are access or support needs we should discuss. We consider the student’s strengths, communication preferences, learning needs, sensory environment, medical needs and views alongside those of the parent/carer.

Possible adjustments include clearer or visual instructions, adapted materials, predictable routines, suitable seating, supported transitions, rest breaks and agreed individual strategies. We consider relevant information from schools or professionals where lawfully shared. A relevant support summary is preferable to collecting an entire EHCP unnecessarily.

Individual decisions and accessible venues

We assess barriers and adjustments individually, including access, toilets, evacuation and staffing, in coordination with the venue where needed. A diagnosis does not automatically mean that one-to-one support is required or that a place must be refused. If specialist support is needed, discuss the arrangement before attendance.

Any limitation must follow consideration of reasonable adjustments, evidence-based safety needs and possible alternatives. Explain reasons sensitively, record the decision and offer a review route. We do not charge a disabled person for a reasonable adjustment that we are legally required to make.

Respect, staff responsibilities and concerns

Tutors must use inclusive communication, challenge discriminatory behaviour and protect students who raise concerns. Selection, recruitment and training decisions should use fair, role-relevant criteria with appropriate safeguarding checks. Imtiaz Patel leads educational support arrangements, with Hamzah Kadiri overseeing escalated service concerns.

Raise an inclusion concern with the session lead or through the complaints policy. Safeguarding issues follow the separate reporting procedure immediately. Relevant sensitive information is shared only with those who need it, under our privacy notice. We review adjustments and feedback to improve provision.
